The Wilkes-Barre VAMC Pharmacy Practice Residency Program is a 12-Month Program

Purpose Statement:   Upon completion of the residency, the resident will become a competent practitioner in areas of direct and indirect patient care and will gain the necessary knowledge and skills required to meet the current and future challenges of pharmacy practice.  The resident will exercise skill in educating and communicating with other health care practitioners and will serve as a source of information for patients and the community.  The resident will have acquired management, leadership and teaching skills that will allow him/her to develop and manage new clinical services, especially in the area of ambulatory care medicine.
