Wilkes-Barre VA Receives $4,000 Donation from American Red Cross
Donations will help inpatient Veterans throughout the hospital.
American Red Cross volunteers stopped by the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center on Thursday, August 28, 2013 to deliver $4,000 in donations for Veterans.
The donations include items for recreation – model cars, drawing pads, and craft supplies. In addition, the American Red Cross provided sweat suits, shoes and women’s clothing items.
“We are so thankful to our community partners who enhance the world-class healthcare we provide through the donation program,” said Margaret B. Caplan, Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center Director. “The American Red Cross’s donation will touch many Veterans’ lives.”

The Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center (WBVAMC) is a 173-bed, teaching facility located in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Each year, WBVAMC serves over 40,000 Veterans in approximately 18 counties in Pennsylvania and New York with over 378,000 outpatient visits. In addition to the main facility, the facility operates five Community Based Outpatient Clinics which are located in Allentown, Williamsport, Sayre, Bangor and Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania.
