National Veterans Creative Arts Festival
Artistic Veterans are Encouraged to Enter
WILKES-BARRE, PA – All artistic Veterans receiving care at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center or one of its outpatient clinics are encouraged to participate in the 6th Annual Local Creative Arts Competition. The local competition will be held on Thursday, March 6th, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Recreation Room at the Medical Center.
The local competition includes multiple categories in the divisions of art, music, dance, drama and creative writing. All first place category winners will have their creative art submissions photographed or videotaped; which will then be entered into the National Veterans Creative Arts Competition. Those submissions will be judged against entries from all over the nation. Some national winners will be invited to attend the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival which will be held October 27 - November 2, 2014 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Applications may be picked up at the Recreation Therapy office, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To request an application by mail, please contact Amie O’Malia at (570) 824-3521, extension 7429.
