Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders Program

Mission

The Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center provides basic medical care for Veterans with spinal cord injury and disorders within an outpatient SCI/D specialty clinic staffed by designated and trained providers. The medical center also provides emergent care for Veterans with SCI/D as well as inpatient medical care.

About the Program

The Wilkes-Barre SCI/D Team is comprised of 1 Physician, 1 Nurse, 1 Licensed Practical Nurse and 1 Social Worker-SCI/D Coordinator, and receives additional support from Physical and Occupational Therapists, Nutritionist and Prosthetics Representative. The team provides outpatient care in its clinic; coordination of care for inpatients and outpatients, including referrals to the East Orange and/or Bronx VAMC SCI/D Centers.

Services Offered

Evaluation and management of spinal cord injury & disorders at our outpatient SCI/D Clinic which is available by appointment every Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 - 2:30pm.
