Mental Health Recovery
Mental Health Recovery is a journey of healing and transformation enabling a person with a mental health problem to live a meaningful life in a community of his or her choice while striving to achieve his or her full potential. Contact the Wilkes-Barre Recovery Coordinator, Miriam Bernson, LCSW at 570-824-3521 x27746 for additional information.
Mental Health Intensive Case Management (MHICM)
MHICM is a program designed to treat severely and chronically mentally ill patients in their homes and communities. MHICM patients are Veterans who have persistent mental illnesses that have caused increased hospital use.
The primary goals of this program are to reduce the frequency and/or duration of hospitalizations and to improve the Veteran's quality of life. MHICM helps patients with housing needs, transportation, budgeting, shopping, homemaking skills, grooming, social skills entitlements and referrals to other services. Above all, our MHICM team members are advocates for these Veterans and their families.
